If the Republican Party was actually serious about fraud, they would go those who actually commit them, the entities/institutions that send in the claims which imclude tests that were never performed.

The massive Medicare fraud is not done by individuals.

TRANSPARENCY: UnitedHealth Group is facing investigations and lawsuits for Medicare fraud. Among other things, it includes adding extra diagnoses to patients' charts to trigger extra payments to the company, and secretly paying nursing homes to reduce hospital transfers. After CEO Brian Thompson was killed, the company started issuing fewer denials, which cut into investors' profits, so investors are also suing them for not denying enough claims.

DOGE was supposed to find billions of dollars of Medicare fraud. UnitedHealth Group's Medicare fraud lawsuit alone alleges several billion dollars of fraud. Why didn't DOGE find that?

Critical thinking:

*How would anyone know how many able-bodied people are living off the government? Let alone how many of those have very good reasons why they can't work for pay for a few years (for example, I couldn't work for 4 years because Mom had lung cancer and Dad had Alzheimer's, and long-term care costs thousands of $$ PER MONTH)? Nobody has gone thru the files and checked individual cases yet, so nobody really has any idea how much fraud there might be. They're just guessing a number that will make them look like heroes.

*So they are making huge cuts to the programs before they know how much NEEDS to be cut. And once it's cut, it's cut. The government doesn't give back any of what they cut, and the money-hoarding billionaires don't either. After all, they need to buy a bigger mega-yacht. Or a politician.

*If they don't find enough people to rightfully cut, they have to cut some of those who really need the help.

*Most likely they will simply change the requirements to make it harder to qualify, then cut anyone that can't meet the new requirements. And we know from experience that they'll still say it was all fraud.

Bottom line: it's just irresponsible to cut funds before you know how much to cut. Common sense says you don't make the cut this year, but spend the time looking for who SHOULD be cut, and cutting them. That way everyone that needs the help gets it, and if there are a lot of legitimate cuts, you have a surplus that can go back to the government at the end of the year

Most of those in the Senate who don't like the bill don't have the same reason we do. They're fine with the actual cuts. They just don't like the huge increase in spending where there'll be more added to the deficit than ever before.

This will be a huge burden at the local level for understaffed county assistance offices to handle the increase in paperwork associated with these requirements. I am certain there is no federal money in this bill for those offices to hire additional staff.

Republicans are the majority

Maga, the admin, and Repubs in Congress are the minority. We the People, of all parties and those of no party, are the majority, and increasing every day, and we are against dictatorship.
